Lextech today announced a partnership with Sonic Automotive (NYSE: SAH), a Charlotte, North Carolina based Fortune 500 automotive retailer. The partnership engages Lextech as Sonic’s Mobile Business Unit (MBU) which allows Sonic to design, develop and deploy mobile applications at a pace to keep up with business demands.

“Our expertise is in selling and servicing vehicles, not developing mobile applications,” said Heath Byrd, VP and CIO of Sonic Automotive. “Partnering with Lextech gives us access to mobile strategy expertise that we did not want to build internally. We believe this partnership will result in significant innovations that will greatly enhance productivity and improve the car buying experience at our dealerships.”

“This isn’t just about mobile apps or even cars,” said Lextech CEO & Chief Geek, Alex Bratton. “It’s about working together closely to define and achieve strategic goals. Our MBU team set the bar high on these apps and we expect to turn some heads.”

An MBU is an exclusive new offering in which a client engages Lextech in a long term relationship to design a program in which mobile supports the business’ strategic goals, model the resulting program’s projected return, implement the program, and then measure its success.
