Alex Bratton, Lextech CEO and Chief Geek and author of Billion Dollar Apps, was selected to chair the 2014 Tabby Awards for Business Apps. The Tabby Awards, a TabTimes event, shine a light on the mobile industry’s best and brightest work. The TabbyAwards/Business focus on business, productivity, and enterprise apps.
The awards are the only enterprise app competition in the world. Android, iPad and Windows tablet app submissions can be made in 18 categories, including Collaboration, Communications, Creation, Design and Editing, Data Access and Collection, Education and Training, and Finance and Accounting.
Jeff Klaumann of Samsung Apps US will co-chair the judging panel this year, helping Bratton oversee the panel of 15 mobile experts from six countries. Bratton and Klaumann will be providing guidance on judging criteria, helping organize entries to ensure a fair competition for all entrants, and providing general enterprise mobile guidance.
When asked by TabTimes about the relevance of enterprise apps, Bratton said, “Enterprise apps are fundamentally changing the workplace as we know it,” He added, “Many of the organizations I work with have employees doing their entire jobs from a tablet. That isn’t an incremental change, it’s profound, and I’m thrilled to be part of a competition that is recognizing the businesses that are at the forefront of this exciting transformation.”
We’ll keep you posted on Tabby Awards/Business finalists and awards. What apps do you think should be nominated?
