New space brings Silicon Valley feel to Downers Grove

Lextech is one of the nation’s fastest-growing software companies, and we have just quadrupled our office space in a move to Opus Place in Downers Grove, Ill.

“We’re relocating to better accommodate our growing staff,” noted Alex Bratton, CEO and chief geek at Lextech. The company has been successful at developing mobile apps that provide a competitive advantage for many of the country’s fastest-growing companies. We have a three-year growth rate of 215 percent and was ranked among the top 150 software companies on the 2014 Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing companies.

We have five conference rooms, each named after a core value character. This room is Passionista. This one is styled like a train car, with seats facing each other and small work trays.

“Our new space brings a Silicon Valley feel to Downers Grove,” said Bratton. The build out includes bright colors, glass walls, open spaces, thinking rooms, game rooms, and a media wall. “The space is a physical representation of our culture and core values and speaks to our focus on collaboration and teamwork. Our passion and energy come through clearly in the color choices and lighting that flow throughout the space,” said Bratton.

“We are excited to welcome Lextech to our community,” said Downers Grove Mayor Martin Tully. “Downers Grove prides itself as a premier location for both corporate headquarters projects and for innovative technology companies such as Lextech. We thank them for choosing us as their new home.”

What does the team think of the new office? Senior UX/ UI designer Cyril said, “I really like the glass walls, it contributes to the open feel of the office. You can see everyone around.” Support engineer Dan agreed about the openness of the space, saying, “It’s easy to walk around and see what everyone is up to, and the common area is awesome. People can eat lunch together, and it’s a great collaboration space. [There are] lots of little places you can jump into to have a quick meeting without disturbing other people.” Other team members said that they love the colors and the lighting and the energy they both offer, with the modern furniture adding a great touch.
