At Downers Grove Economic Development Committee’s (DGEDC) annual luncheon last Thursday, Lextech Global Services was honored to receive the Cornerstone Award for its new headquarters, recently relocated to Downers Grove. This award recognizes the most important projects to advance Downers Grove’s economic development in the preceding year.
Before the awards, Michael Cassa, president and CEO of the DGEDC gave his annual economic development report disclosing the committee’s new five-year strategic plan. He concluded by introducing Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti as this year’s keynote speaker.
Sanguinetti, who took office this year, was excited to speak in her native county and showed support and faith in DGEDC’s five-year development plan. She also shared a few highlights of current gubernatorial economic policies they’re rolling out to support Illinois residents and business owners.
Various awards were given after the keynote. Will Scott, President and Integrator at Lextech, enthusiastically accepted the award, kissing it and exclaiming, “This is our Stanley Cup!” Scott spoke about what a privilege it was to receive the award. He urged attendees to seek out Lextech to help improve local established businesses with a mobile strategy and enterprise mobile apps. “We’re so excited to be part of the Downers Grove and Illinois business community and are honored to receive this award,” said Scott. “We look forward to making a big impact and helping more local organizations succeed with mobile.” He concluded by thanking Downers Grove for being so welcoming to Lextech and its new home and is looking forward to what the future will bring to Lextech and the community.
